Tilbury BIP Products of animal origin

The charges for veterinary checks of Products of Animal Origin have been harmonised in accordance with Council Regulation 882/2004. The charges for 2010 have been set by Defra and will be applied to consignments arriving from 1 January 2010. Following representations from the trade, LPHA has revised its charges for 2010 to be in line with other UK ports. They represent an increase on the 2009 charges and this is explained in the letter from the Port Health & Veterinary Services Director below.

High Risk Foods

The charges LPHA will levy for official controls carried out on imports of certain feed and food of non-animal origin that require a CED are to be set following consultation with the Foods Standards Agency (FSA). These charges are subject to review and may change at short notice following guidance or direction from the FSA and there may be a harmonised charge introduced.

Organic products

The charge for the endorsement of the Certificate of Inspection is £45.00 per certificate. This has been set in consultation with Defra and may be reviewed.

LIII on the River Ship Sanitation Control Certificates and Ship Sanitation Control Exemption Certificates

London Port Health Authority is authorised to issue both certificates for vessels at all ports and terminals within its district, please contact the appropriate port office giving as much notice as possible. A form requesting a certificate along with the current charges can be downloaded.

At a meeting of The Association of Port Health Authorities in January 2009, it was agreed by its members that the charges were to remain unchanged from those set for 2008.

Catch Certificates

It is anticipated that there will be a national fee for checking of Catch Certificates for imports of certain categories of fish and fishery products as required by the Illegal, Unregulated and Unreported Regulations (Commission Regulation (EC) No 1005/2008). Until such time a national fee is set, LPHA will charge £45.00 for endorsement of Catch Certificates.
